We handle domestic and livestock animals only. We do not handle any aquatic or wildlife. Any and all fees must be paid in cash; we do not accept checks or credit cards.

PICK-UPS. We pick up stray dogs and cats during our normal business hours when they are contained or tied up.

PATROLS. We do patrols both randomly and by request for animals running at large.

RECLAIMS. If we impound your animal for any reason and you come to reclaim ownership you are responsible for the following fees:

First Time: $50.00 reclaim fee plus $25.00 spay/neuter deposit

Second Time: $75.00 reclaim fee plus $25.00 spay/neuter deposit

Third Time: $100.00 reclaim fee plus mandatory spay/neuter surgery prepaid from vet.

Fourth Time: $125.00 reclaim fee. Reclaims increase by $25.00 for the lifetime of the animal.

Daily Fee: $10.00 daily (Owner relinquishes custoy and then reclaims or animal is picked up or under rabies observation and owner does not reclaim immediately. Ten Dollars per day is added to reclaim fee or rabies observation fee.)

Lifestock Reclaim: $50.00

OUT OF COUNTY INTAKES. $25.00

IMPOUND. $75.00 (Refuse to quarantine for rabies observation. Added to observation fee or under investigation for cruelty/neglect.)

PROTECTIVE CUSTODY. $150.00. (Owner is arrested)

INVESTIGATIONS. We investigate all complaints of possible abuse and/or neglect.

BITES. We receive reports and investigate any bite inflicted by an animal. We check on all rabies vaccinations and advise owners of their responsibilities and quarantine procedures. In the event that an animal is quarantined at the Animal Shelter the owner is responsible for a $100.00 quarantine fee for the first observation; $175.00 quarantine fee for the second observation; and $250.00 quarantine fee for the third observation.

ADOPTIONS. We have dogs and cats at the Animal Shelter available for adoption six days a week. All the animals have their first series of vaccinations and you will receive a certificate for a free spay or neuter with any adoption. We will also give you a collar and tag and any free samples of food we have available. The adoption fees are as follows:

Dogs: $70.00
Cats: $55.00

Other animals available for adoption: Rabbit ($15.00), Guinea Pig ($10.00), Hamster ($5.00), Ferret ($45.00), Small Bird ($15.00), Large Bird ($45.00).

EUTHANASIA. Euthanasia is also available at the animal shelter upon owner's request. There is a fee of $40.00 for cats and $50.00 for dogs.

DISPOSAL. $20.00

24 HOURS. We provide 24 hour emergency service for reports of animal bites, vicious animals, and running at large livestock. You can contact our on-call officer by calling the Sheriff's department at 477-3000 after our normal hours.
